Welcome to Y&Y Ministry!

The Great Commission of Jesus Christ has been given to everyone who believes in the Lord, but not everyone can leave their home and go. Not everyone is called alike to go, but everyone is called to fulfill the mission.

The Yabe family (Aki, Sachi, Lior and Liana) is on the front line of the mission, but behind us are God’s people who enable us and do the mission together through prayer and financial assistance. The Lord values and rewards them (Matt 10:40-42).

Our key Bible verses are Haggai 2:6-7, Hebrew 12:26-28, Luke 4:43 and Psalm 115:1.

We have 3 target groups to reach out to...

The local German speaking people

For 1900 years Europe has led the world in Christianity. However, an increasing number of people in Europe are rapidly leaving the faith today, and anti-Christian thoughts and cults are seizing their hearts. We bring the Gospel to the German speaking nations that have a tremendous impact on today's world, and pray that they would come back to Christ Jesus and be filled with His joy and peace.

The local Muslims

The Muslim population has been fast-growing and Europe has been facing an increasing number of Muslim immigrants and refugees. However, if they stay in their own countries, Muslims would not have many chances to hear the Gospel. It is the Lord God who permits them to go to Europe. We bring the Gospel to Muslims and share God's love, salvation and hope.

The local Japanese

Many Japanese are living in Europe and they have spiritual needs. However, the continent faces a lack of pastors and missionaries who can speak Japanese to reach out to them. We bring the Gospel to the Japanese and share Jesus' love and truth with them.

JOURNEY

(Aki) When I encountered the living Christ who saved my life, I wanted to live this "second" and new life for him. The work of missionaries fascinated me and I soon found myself living surrounded by Christians wanting to make Jesus known. While doing a devotional at my friend's house, I flipped through the pages of the Bible and opened it to Genesis 12. I was deeply touched by the story of Abraham following God without knowing where he was going. After praying that I would walk closely with the Lord like Abraham did, I received a call to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to German speaking nations.

(Sachi) When I was studying in Seattle, I became friends with Indonesian Christians. They were not only fun and joyous, but also thought seriously about life, relationships, and the future. I realized they had something in them that I didn't have. I found out the answer was Jesus Christ and believed in Him as my Savior and Lord. Later on I received a call to make Jesus known and had a burning heart for Muslims in Indonesia.

Sachi and I (Aki) met in Christchurch in 2009 and started a long distance-relationship between New Zealand and Japan. Many times, we almost gave up our relationship because our vision and missionary destinations differed, but the Lord molded our hearts and led us to marriage in 2012. We learned that to serve the Lord whole-heartedly wherever he puts us is most important, and vision and destination are secondary. We submitted ourselves to Him and the Lord has given us an opportunity to work among Muslims in a German-speaking nation.

We are based out of Minemachi Christ Church in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan and have been serving with OM (Operation Mobilization) in Linz, Austria since December 2020.

When I first met Akihiro and his family a few years ago, I was amazed. This is exactly the combination, I thought, that we need in the world and here in Europe: a young family from Asia, from my beloved Japan, with an excellent knowledge of English, and even with knowledge of German as a former student in Germany, including knowledge of the Western mentality - and above all: A clear conversion to Jesus Christ, and a life dedicated to the ministry of spreading the Gospel!

I wish them certainty in their guidance by God and God’s rich blessing for their Gospel witness. And I wish them not to forget the Japanese in Europe! In prayer we stand behind you.

I met Akihiro in 2005 during his YWAM Discipleship Training School in Lausanne Switzerland that I was speaking at. His passion, zeal and love for Jesus/missions was so evident from the first time I talked with and prayed for him.

He and family are such a blessing to many as they do missions. I am humbled and blessed to know him and his family, and I believe they will do greater things for the kingdom of God as they do missions.

I highly recommend them to any church/ministry/missions as they have amazing hearts to serve God and people well with love and integrity.

I am the pastor of the church that Akihiro & Sachie Yabe (Aki & Sachi) belong to. I’ve known them since before they were married, and seen them continue to faithfully serve God and people. Regardless of nationality and language, they get along well with men and women of all ages. To a large extent their communication ability and personalities will be beneficial in their service.

Jesus’ commandment, to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” is for all Christians. I believe that supporting missionaries is also a form of obeying His commandment.

It would be grateful for your prayers and financial support of the mission‘s work of the Yabe family, to bring the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to people of the world.

The Y&Y Ministry is a group established to support the Yabe family (Aki, Sachi, Lior and Liana) to do mission work and bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world together with everyone involved. By participating in the mission work together, everyone will experience God's grace and blessings even more, as well as share it with each other. Supporters are gathered from the sending church, Minemachi Christ Church, other Japanese churches, and from overseas. The aim is not only to support the Yabe family to do mission work, but that everyone involved would also have a sense of calling and participate in mission work, as if all were placed on the missionary field.
